What we do

We are general contractors, which means one company runs the whole job instead of you coordinating six of them. Most of our work is interior renovation; we carry the structure and exterior trades so nothing stalls waiting on someone else.

Inside the house

Kitchens

Full kitchen renovations from demolition to the final punch list — cabinetry, counters, tile, lighting and appliance hookups.

Bathrooms

Everything from a tired guest bath to a full primary suite, waterproofed properly behind the tile so it lasts.

Basements

Turning unfinished square footage into real living space — framed, insulated, coded and inspected.

Flooring

Hardwood, engineered, luxury vinyl and tile installed on a properly prepped and level subfloor.

Painting

Interior and exterior painting with the prep work actually done — patched, sanded, caulked and primed before a finish coat goes on.

Trim & Finish Work

The details people actually notice — crown, casing, wainscoting and built-ins cut tight and installed clean.

Structure & exterior

Additions

Adding square footage or opening a floor plan, engineered so the structure carries it correctly.

Roofing & Exteriors

Roofs, siding and gutters — the envelope that keeps everything you just paid for dry.

General Renovations

Whole-home projects and everything that does not fit a single category. One contractor, one schedule, one phone number.

Why Seven Horses

Seven horses pull one chariot. Seven trades build one house. The whole business is built on keeping them moving in the same direction.

  • Clean professional work

We protect floors, contain dust and leave the site swept every single day, not just on the last one.

  • Clear communication

One point of contact, a daily update on what got done, and a straight answer when something changes.

  • Reliable scheduling

When we say Tuesday, crews are there Tuesday. If a material is delayed, you hear it from us first.

  • Licensed & insured

Full general liability and workers' compensation. Certificates provided before work begins.

How a job runs

No vanishing acts and no surprise line items. Here is the whole sequence before you sign anything.

  1. STEP 01

    Walkthrough

We come look at the space, take measurements and photos, and talk through what you actually want. Usually within 48 hours.

  2. STEP 02

    Written estimate

A line-by-line quote covering materials, labor, permits and disposal — including anything we have deliberately excluded.

  3. STEP 03

    Permits & schedule

We pull permits, order materials and commit to a start date in writing.

  4. STEP 04

    Build

Crews start early, protect the property and clean up daily. You get a note on what was finished and what is next.

  5. STEP 05

    Walkthrough & warranty

Full cleanup, punch list closed out, then your workmanship warranty handed over on paper.

Recent work

Full-scope renovations, not patch jobs.

Full kitchen renovation

Wall removed and carried on a new beam, rift-cut oak cabinetry, honed stone counters and a full-height backsplash, with plumbing and electrical relocated and inspected before close-up.

Edison, NJ

Basement media room

Framed, insulated and inspected, with a white oak plank ceiling, acoustic slat wall, a full run of built-in cabinetry and herringbone flooring in the hall.

Old Bridge, NJ

What homeowners say

Every project ends the same way: a walkthrough, a swept site, and a client who would have us back.

Seven Horses Construction did an excellent job renovating our kitchen. They listened carefully to what our family wanted, communicated clearly, and kept everything clean throughout the project. The finished work looks beautiful, and everything was completed properly. I would confidently recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable contractor.

What you get in writing

Three documents, handed to you at three points in the job. Ask any contractor you are considering for the same three.

Before you sign

A line-by-line estimate covering materials, labor, permits and disposal — plus what we have deliberately excluded, and the price if we find something behind the wall. No verbal numbers.

Before we start

Certificates of general liability and workers' compensation, pulled permits, and a committed start date. If a material slips, you hear it from us before you notice it yourself.

Before we leave

A walkthrough with the punch list closed out, the site swept, and your material and workmanship warranties handed over on paper rather than promised out loud.
